Meet Charlie-

Charlie has been spending her days with her foster family of Mom, Dad, two older children (10 & 13) and a resident dog. She has been such a sweet girl. Charlie is very loyal to her people, good with kids and likes other dogs. She enjoys being outside and going for walks, but does need a little leash training. She’s also excited when she sees other dogs so does get a little wiggly and will whine and bark, playfully. She does well with correction.  Using treats on walks, we quickly work to get her attention and hold it while we pass other dogs along the way. So far so good, but it will take consistency and patience.

When Charlie gets her needed exercise for the day she likes naps and cuddles. She’s done well in a crate overnight, but has a little anxiety about it during the day  She will settle after a few minutes but needs some more practice.  We’ve also allowed her to sleep in a dog bed in our room at night and she does great!

This girl LOVES food!  So much so that I’ve divided her daily food so that she gets some in a bowl and then the rest in a snuffle mat so she can forage for it. She loves it, and I think she’d benefit from other brain games and enrichment activities as well. Food motivation is also great for training.

Potty training – we are so so close.  Charlie has done really well on a schedule but we’ve had a couple accidents. I think in her new home she’ll get it figured out quickly with regular consistency.

This pooch is such a HAPPY dog. Her tail wag starts behind her shoulders and if she’s really exuberant her whole back bends with each wag. She is truly delightful.  Now she is looking for her furever family and cannot wait to meet them!
